The course entailed studying techniques and methods used to identify, separate, and quantify chemical substances. It combined theory and practical skills in chemistry, instrumentation, and data analysis to solve problems related to quality control, environmental monitoring, pharmaceuticals, food safety, and materials testing. I learnt about spectroscopy, chromatography, electrochemistry, and modern laboratory practices, preparing me for careers in research, industry, regulatory bodies, and laboratories.
Work & Experience
Operated and monitored Ethylene Oxide (EtO) sterilization chambers to ensure product sterility and safety. Conducted pre-conditioning, sterilization, and aeration steps per ISO 11135 standards. Performed biological indicator (BI) and chemical indicator (CI) testing to validate sterilization efficacy. Maintained detailed batch records and sterilization logs for internal audits and regulatory inspections. Supported quality assurance functions by identifying process gaps and recommending improvements for compliance with FDA and WHO standards. Collaborated with lab technologists to ensure the quality of incoming and outgoing medical devices.
