Job Title: Motorbike Sales Representative
Department: Consumer
Location: Nairobi &environs
Employment Type: Full-Time

1. Job Purpose

The Motorbike Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and revenue growth within the assigned territory through effective customer coverage, new customer acquisition, order generation, product promotion and relationship management.

The role requires extensive field movement using a company-assigned motorbike to visit customers, identify new business opportunities, increase product penetration and ensure achievement of agreed sales and distribution targets.

2. Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. Sales and Revenue Growth

  • Achieve assigned daily, weekly and monthly sales and revenue targets.
  • Generate orders from existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory.
  • Drive growth of the company’s products through increased customer coverage, product penetration and repeat business.
  • Identify underperforming products and implement agreed actions to improve sales.
  • Promote new and existing products to customers.
  • Monitor individual sales performance against targets and take corrective action where necessary.

B. Customer Visits and Calls

  • Develop and follow an approved daily and weekly customer visitation route plan.
  • Achieve the required number of customer visits and calls per day/week.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing customers to generate orders and strengthen business relationships.
  • Ensure productive customer visits by capturing orders, providing product information and identifying customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer visits, calls, orders and follow-up actions.
  • Follow up promptly on customer enquiries, complaints and outstanding issues.

C. Territory and Route Management

  • Maintain effective coverage of the assigned sales territory.
  • Follow approved route plans and optimize daily movement to maximize productive selling time.
  • Identify underserved areas and recommend opportunities for territory expansion.
  • Provide accurate information on customer locations, market potential and sales opportunities.

D. Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor products, prices, promotions and activities within the assigned territory.
  • Gather information on customer preferences and emerging market trends.
  • Identify new products or services being introduced by competitors.
  • Provide timely market intelligence to the Supervisor.

E. Customer Relationship Management

  • Ensure customer enquiries and complaints are resolved promptly or escalated appropriately.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism.
  • Support customer retention initiatives and identify customers at risk of becoming inactive.

F. Reporting and Administration

  • Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly and monthly sales reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer visits, sales, orders and new customer acquisitions.
  • Update customer information in the CRM or other approved reporting system.
  • Report significant market developments and competitor activities.

4. Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Certificate in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or another relevant field.
  • Previous experience in field sales, FMCG, consumer products or a related environment is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and develop customer relationships.
  • Experience in territory development and new customer acquisition is an added advantage.
  • Valid motorbike riding license.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Good knowledge of the assigned geographical market will be an advantage.

6. Key Working Relationships

Internal: Modern Trade Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, customer service team and Production team

External: Distributors, stockists, retailers, and other customers within the assigned territory.

7. Role Success Profile

Success in this position will be demonstrated by consistent achievement of sales targets, sustained revenue growth, increased number of active customers, disciplined customer coverage, effective territory management and development of strong long-term customer relationships.
