About Candidate
I am a highly motivated and skilled Economics graduate with a Master’s degree from Chuka University, where I also gained three years of teaching experience. During my time at the university, I taught and supervised students, assessing their work and providing guidance on research projects. In addition to my teaching role, I specialized in data analysis and econometrics, using advanced statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, R, Gretl, and Ox-Metrics to conduct complex data analysis, including regression modeling, hypothesis testing, and econometric techniques. My hands-on experience in research includes conducting fieldwork, collecting both qualitative and quantitative data, and participating in the design and execution of research methodologies. I have also presented my research at various academic conferences, effectively communicating findings to diverse audiences. With expertise in literature reviews, research reporting, and contributing to academic publications, I am a well-rounded candidate for a Research Assistant position, where I can leverage my skills in supporting high-impact research and contributing to innovative economic studies.
Education
Studying MSc (Economics) at Chuka University provided me with a comprehensive understanding of economic theory, quantitative analysis, and research methodologies. My thesis, focused on the effect of external debt on inflation and investment in Kenya, allowed me to explore the critical relationship between debt, macroeconomic stability, and economic growth. Through this research, I utilized advanced econometric techniques and data analysis tools to analyze how external borrowing influences key economic indicators, which is vital for shaping policy decisions in developing economies. The experience deepened my analytical and research skills, equipping me to contribute meaningfully to economic research, particularly in areas related to public finance, macroeconomics, and development economics. This background is highly relevant to research positions, where understanding the impact of global financial dynamics on national economies is crucial for formulating informed policy recommendations.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics at Chuka University, graduating in 2021. During the program, I developed a strong foundation in economic theory, statistical methods, and data analysis. The curriculum equipped me with the skills to analyze and interpret economic data, model economic behavior, and apply statistical tools to solve real-world problems. Through both coursework and practical projects, I gained proficiency in various statistical software and learned how to use data to inform policy decisions and economic strategies. This education provided me with a robust analytical framework, preparing me for both academic research and professional roles that require data-driven decision-making and economic analysis.
Work & Experience
During my three years as a teaching assistant at Chuka University, I was responsible for delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and guiding students through coursework in economics and statistics. I assisted in the design and preparation of course materials, including lecture slides, assignments, and exams, ensuring they aligned with the learning objectives. I also supervised and mentored students, providing support during office hours and assisting them with research projects, data analysis, and problem-solving. Additionally, I assessed student performance through grading assignments, projects, and exams, offering constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding of the subject matter. My role also involved coordinating practical sessions, where I demonstrated the use of statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, and R for data analysis, enhancing students' hands-on experience. This experience not only strengthened my communication and leadership skills but also deepened my understanding of economic theories and statistical methodologies, preparing me for further research and academic roles.
