I have developed strong expertise in managing non-performing accounts, including those over 90 days, 180 days, and write-offs. Currently, I am working as a Regional Debt Recovery Officer overseeing delinquency management for an entire region consisting of 7 branches, with a portfolio value of KES 320,595,624 with a PAR ranging between 3.9% and 5.26%.
I also supervise a team of over 24 external debt recovery officers across the region that I train and lead in actual recovery of delinquent accounts

Carrying out debt collection daily to meet the set target Collection of Kshs.1.5million per month. Issuing statutory demand notices and enforcing the same. Issuing instructions to auctioneers to realize collaterals Representing the company in the small claims court during recovery of loans below 1 million. Maintaining detailed records of customers’ interaction and making sure that promise to pay agreements are met. Implementing the company recovery policy in the 7 branches allocated through supervision of 29 external debt recovery officers. Recruiting and interviewing external debt recovery personnel in the branches. Supervising the daily activities of the external debt collectors including all the recovery activities they are engaged in. Analysing and extracting the delinquency management log for action and updating the same for analysing the achievements Helping in actual recovery activities in the field to ensure maximum collections.
Negotiating Planning and leading in actual recovery of the delinquent accounts (Loans in arrears of 90 to over 180 days and write offs repayment plans and arrangements tailored to clients’ financial situations Engaging and signing up struggling clients on an efficient and affordable repayment schedule. This includes visiting the client at their premises. Liaising with auctioneers and lawyers in recovery of collaterals in order to close non-performing accounts. Monitoring allocated portfolio of delinquent loans to determine reasons for delinquency by applying convenient credit judgement, collection strategy and process within predetermined broad policy guidelines and regulations to minimize losses Monitoring implementation of action points as indicated in the delinquency management tool from the branches and reporting and monitoring all risks associated with debt recovery Writing regular reports on the main gaps leading to default / recoveries and how to rectify them
Risk assessment, analyzing, identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the business from field process standpoint across all the branches. Risk evaluation, measuring risks using organizational criteria, requirements and scorecards. Help overhaul the branch process audit and oversight function, including but not limited to receipts generation, completion and reconciliation, group onboarding, management. Conducts follow ups across all the branches to ensure credit compliance Thorough and robust risk reporting that ensures management and individual understand the risks being incurred and enables accountability for such risks. Providing process improvement suggestions on an ongoing basis and reviewing and scrutinizing loan appraisal forms to ensure quality loans are given to minimize the risks involved. Work with external and internal auditors as needed by the organization. Providing support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization.
