Location: Nairobi, Kenya (with regional travel)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (10 Months)

Salary: 250k per month

About the Role

An established organization is seeking an experienced Access to Finance Manager to lead the implementation of a regional enterprise development programme focused on supporting women-led businesses and driving sustainable economic growth across East Africa. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in enterprise development, access to finance, stakeholder engagement, programme delivery, and donor compliance while coordinating implementation across multiple countries.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Growth & Access to Finance

  • Develop and implement strategies that improve access to finance for SMEs and entrepreneurs.
  • Support businesses to become investment and credit ready.
  • Build partnerships with banks, development finance institutions, investors and impact funds.
  • Organize investor forums, financing clinics and business pitch events.
  • Monitor financing mobilized by programme participants.
  • Support enterprises in financial management, governance and business planning.

Programme Management

  • Coordinate programme implementation across multiple countries.
  • Monitor project work plans, budgets, milestones and key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate programme review meetings and ensure timely delivery of project activities.
  • Identify programme risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Ensure consistent programme quality and compliance across all implementation partners.

Partnership Development

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, private sector organizations, development partners and business support organizations.
  • Identify opportunities for programme sustainability and resource mobilization.
  • Represent the organization at stakeholder engagements and industry forums.
  • Strengthen collaborations that promote entrepreneurship and enterprise growth.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Coordinate programme monitoring and data collection.
  • Track project outcomes and impact indicators.
  • Prepare high-quality donor and management reports.
  • Document programme success stories, lessons learned and best practices.
  • Support programme evaluations and learning initiatives.

Grant Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and grant obligations.
  • Monitor programme budgets and financial accountability.
  • Coordinate audits and donor review processes.
  • Lead programme close-out activities and final reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Development Studies, Entrepreneurship or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certification in Project Management, Programme Management, Banking, Investment Management or SME Development is desirable.
  • At least 7 years’ experience managing enterprise development or SME support programmes.
  • Demonstrated experience in access to finance, SME banking, investment readiness or business advisory services.
  • Experience managing donor-funded projects.
  • Experience coordinating regional or multi-country programmes.
  • Strong understanding of entrepreneurship ecosystems and private sector development.
  • Experience engaging financial institutions, investors and development partners.
  • Experience supporting women entrepreneurship initiatives will be an added advantage.
