Job Purpose
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in the assigned market.
This includes targeting key accounts, maintaining a strong sales pipeline, and driving the sales process to achieve targets.
Our ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the sales process, excelling at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals.
The Area Sales Manager will also be tasked with overseeing the activities and performance of the third party sales team, ensuring the team meets its sales objectives.
Responsibilities
- Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales targets for region split into months
- Implement sales programs by developing field sales action plans
- Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
- Manage prices within the region assigned
- Build and maintain customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
- List new products within the territory
- Manage distributor stocks and receivables.
- Develop the market by ensuring availability of our products in different channels.
- Coordinate the third party team to ensure excellent execution and availability in trade.
Requirements
- Proven sales experience, meeting or exceeding targets.
- Previous experience as a sales manager.
- Ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
- Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services.
- Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
- Degree in business administration or a related field.
- Driving experience with a valid driving licence.
