Work & Experience
• Analyze Mill juices: first Expressed Juice, Last Expressed juice & Mixed Juice to ascertain their pol%, Brix % and purity on an hourly basis. • Analyze the by-products of sugar processing materials: Bagasse pol%, Filter Cake pol% and Final Molasses Pol%, for the accountability of sugar losses and pol balance. • Moisture analysis: the analyst shall carry out continuous checks of moisture on Bagasse and Filter Cake and Sugar to ascertain the keeping Quality. • Analyze Pan Floor Materials: syrup, A, B, C- Massecuites, A & B Molasses, B & C Sugar, Checks on Brix%, Pol% and Purity% in order to ascertain quality sugar. • Sugar Analysis: The analyst shall carry out checks on the end product (sugar composite), the parameters’ to be checked shall include: pol% sugar, sugar moisture, suspended solids, Crystal size, conductivity and sugar color in ICUMSA Units. • CaO analysis • Phosphate analysis: the analysis shall be done in mixed juice and First Expressed Juice to ascertain the content of phosphates in cane. • Preparation Index (P.I): the analysis shall be done to ascertain the quality of cane preparedness. • Whole cane analysis: to check for brix%, pol%, purity and Cane Commercial Ratio. • Extraneous Matter Analysis: the analysis shall be done to ascertain the Non Cane Matter in cane. • Prepare Reagents: using the analytical techniques. • Data tabulation: the results of each analysis shall be well tabulated in the log books.
• Responsible for testing of drugs using the GC- MS Machine • Responsible for Microbiology analysis in the microbiology lab with tests such as Yeast and moulds @ 250c; Total coli forms @ 370cEcoli @ 440c; Total Aflatoxins, Aflatoxin B1 • Responsible for food laboratory analysis for physical tests, chemical tests for grains, cereals, alcohol and detergents • Responsible for water testing laboratory for physical tests and chemical tests e.g. pH, salinity, conductivity, fluorides, Hardness • Effluent Analysis, tests include Biochemical Oxygen Demand(BOD), Chemical oxygen Demand(COD), oil and grease, settleable matter, suspended solids • Preparing and standardizing of reagents • Maintaining cleanliness in the laboratory • Safe work procedures, Hazard spotting & Ergonomics • Safe waste disposal
