Job Description

Job Title: Sales Executive (Banking)
Department: Sales & Business Development
Reports To: Sales Manager / Business Development Manager
Location: Nairobi Mombasa Nakuru

Job Purpose

To drive business growth by acquiring new customers, opening funded accounts, onboarding merchants to Pay bill /Till solutions, mobilizing deposits, recruiting agency banking agents, and achieving monthly sales targets in line with the organization’s business strategy.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Customer Acquisition

  • Prospect and recruit new individual and business customers.
  • Open new customer accounts in compliance with KYC and AML requirements.
  • Ensure accounts are funded and remain active.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

2. Merchant Acquisition (Pay bill/Till)

  • Identify businesses requiring collection solutions.
  • Acquire and onboard Pay bill and Till merchants.
  • Ensure merchants are fully activated.
  • Provide training and after-sales support.
  • Monitor merchant transaction activity.

3. Deposit Mobilization

  • Source deposits from individuals, SMEs, institutions, and corporate clients.
  • Grow and maintain customer deposit portfolios.
  • Encourage customers to maintain healthy account balances.

4. Agency Banking Recruitment

  • Identify suitable Agency Banking prospects.
  • Ensure agents meet all eligibility requirements.
  • Submit complete documentation for approval.
  • Support activation and operational readiness.

5. Relationship Management

  • Maintain regular engagement with customers.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly.
  • Cross-sell banking products and services.
  • Increase customer retention.

6. Compliance

  • Ensure all customer documentation is complete.
  • Adhere to KYC, AML/CFT, and internal banking policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information.

7. Reporting

  • Prepare daily activity reports.
  • Submit weekly sales pipeline reports.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports.
  • Maintain accurate customer records in the CRM.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Banking, Finance, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • A Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Banking, or Business-related discipline may be considered with relevant experience.
  • 2 years’ experience in sales
