About the Role

Our client, a leading technology and digital infrastructure solutions provider, is seeking to recruit a Junior Software Engineer to support the development, enhancement and maintenance of software applications.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior developers and the wider technology team to develop reliable software solutions, build and integrate APIs, troubleshoot application issues and contribute to the delivery of technical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, efficient and maintainable code to develop new features and resolve software bugs.
  • Support senior developers in designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications.
  • Develop, build and integrate RESTful APIs using Laravel and modern frontend technologies.
  • Participate in application testing, debugging and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Follow established coding standards, development practices and software engineering workflows.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings, technical discussions and code review sessions.
  • Document code, technical processes and application changes appropriately.
  • Provide regular progress updates and collaborate with team members to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Continuously explore and adopt relevant technologies and development practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in software development or IT.
  • Practical experience in developing and maintaining software applications.
  • Proficiency in PHP and Laravel, including Eloquent ORM, routing and REST API development.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of React, Next.js and TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and Tailwind CSS.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience using Git and GitHub.
  • Understanding of transmission, IP Core and Access technologies, including DWDM, SDH and Microwave technologies.
